Healthy Minds Initiative
Sedona Healthy Brain Community Initiative
We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with Healthy World Sedona, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization in Sedona, Arizona whose mission is to “Act together to improve human, planetary and animal health and welfare through a whole food plant-based lifestyle”. The co-founders, Don Fries and Bev Bow, have certificates in plant-based nutrition from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies and eCornell. HWS sponsors two major annual events, held in January of each year: the Sedona Health & Nutrition Conference for medical professionals; and the Sedona VegFest for the general public. Both events feature nationally recognized experts and are designed to increase awareness and understanding of the benefits of whole food plant-based nutrition for human health, for the environment, and for other animals.
The goal of the Sedona Healthy Brain Community Initiative is to:
- Disperse the latest information on the importance of a whole-food, plant-based diet in the prevention of brain diseases and promotion of brain health.
- Mobilize the community by engaging with local leaders to take actions that support the brain health and prevent brain diseases, such as Alzheimer’s, Stroke and Parkinson’s disease.
